Mammal 2
The striped hyena lives in the sahara desert. They have a short torso with long legs and their hind legs are significantly shorter. They have thick, long necks to support their heavy, massive heads. The have small eyes which are their greatest senses used to hunt and defend. Their ears are sharply pointed and black. The fur is thick and brownish, grey. They will eat any defenseless animal, wild boar, kulan, porcupines, tortoises, oil willow, fruits, grasshoppers, garbage, carrion, feral horses, water buffalo carcasses all of which they may bring back to their young, or cubs, so they can eat as well. Their diet requires them to drink a lot of water. The striped hyena compete with the gray wolf and are preyed upon by lions and hunting dogs. While being attacked, they evert their rectum and spray a pungent liquid from it's anal glands.

Mammal 1
Camel; the people of the Sahara use these animals for milk, meat, shade, and transportation. They also have a lot cooler body temperatures so they huddle together to stay cool. Camels are herbivores that are domesticated and fed dates, grass, wheat, and oats by their owners. They are very large, up to seven feet tall, with their very noticeable hump weighing in excess up to 1,600 lbs. Their tails are long and they're covered with thick, shaggy fur that can be from a dark brown color to almost white. Their feet, knees, and chest have thick, leathery pads to protect them. The young are called calfs or a git. They can run within hours of birth and start being trained to knell or stand at the age of one. They're able to carry a full load at the age of five. These mammals are at the top of the food chain.

African Clothing and Food
African women from the 1890s wore wraps around their bodies and head to keep cool in the hot weather. They ate live stock they raised and grew large farms. Their diet is heavily meat based and they have a lot of barbecues. Boerewors, or spicy sausages are often made at the barbecues. Mielies, maize, or mielie-meal is often served as porridge, or pearl millet. They enjoy pastries such as koeksisters and desserts such as melktert, or milk tart.

My name is Abeba Jomo-Gbomo and I live in Nouakchott, Mauritania in the African sahara desert. The year is 1890. I live in an average home in our city. It is small but big enough for me and my five kids, Ababuo, Abeo, Adabelle, Adama, and Adofo. I stay at home and care for the children while my husband is away at work. I clean and go down to bring water with the help of my two sons.
